Do you remember Easter 2020? No, neither do we! This time last year we were all in the early stages of understanding what the pandemic meant for our families, businesses and the food and drink sector. We rarely went out, home deliveries were as rare as easter eggs on shelves on Easter Sunday, and to be honest no one really bothered too much with Easter.
So, for Easter 2021 it seems the retail sector are making up for lost time and have gone large on the Easter premium range. Forget the £1 basic Easter eggs (fine for kids obviously), food retailers have gone BIG on Easter eggs. And this year, it’s all about decadence.
We love a wander around supermarkets, perusing the food packaging design, the food trends on shelf and seeing what’s hot across the food industry.
Watch this video, recorded undercover by Michelle at our local M&S. You’ll notice that she’s particularly drawn to the M&S Gin-And-Ton-Egg! Do you see what they did there?
There is a warning though, it does Include a rather opinionated few words about Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar… apologies in advance to anyone offended. Not really. M&S need to get Percy and Colin back in their cages. Enough is enough.
You could say that I’m reviewing the Easter M&S range…so you don’t have to!
