A: I love the atmosphere and food served at Jamie’s Italian. Simple, flavoursome food. Really simple and unpretentious.

A: Nature and my library.

Call for action

Haddon was brought up in Aberystwyth moved to his studies in Swansea - these combining both business and marketing, and art and photography. Whilst there he embarked on a career in retail and after reaching senior management he took a side step and became marketing director of a new venture. In this role he launched a Cardiff Bay - based internet & publishing business over 15 years ago. Graphic and web design were included in the range of services offered by his studio team - demand for these services soon outstripped those of the magazine so the team refocused its efforts down the marketing and design path. He soon realised that this was a true passion for him and it complemented his photography background. Haddon's full service design house went from strength to strength and after several moves they settled into a large converted house in just outside Cardiff delivering brands, digital media and websites for many high profile businesses, social enterprises and public sector operators. He here he built a strong business based on high creative integrity and the belief that the clients needs are at the centre of design. There should not be an overbearing house style, just client-focused design.

In 2006 Haddon relocated to Chepstow and converted a barn in an environmental friendly manner in the stunning Monmouthshire countryside whilst launching the brand Creating Media. This creative design business recognised Haddon’s passion for the environment and has built a strong base of environmental clients across South Wales and the South West. Creating Media continues to successfully operate within this geographic area servicing clients in all matters design and in all markets.

Umami is the brainchild of Haddon and Michelle ... After all, what could be better than a design agency that has a blend of 15 years’ experience in design and a further 15 years in the food industry?

Haddon’s passion for food has sparked an interest in him baking his own bread, enjoying local food and supporting local producers. He is a member of a local food co-operative, is involved in local green initiatives and has a keen interest in property renovation. He generally enjoys eating too much and not drinking enough.
